Third Tier of Instructor Training |

To Prepare: In-Car Instructor to be Lead Instructor for Modules 1-10 of the ten in-car modules of the National Institute’s Traffic Safety Education Curriculum and to be able to teach advanced in-vehicle performance concepts.
Qualifications: Teacher candidate must meet current standards. Teacher must have completed Tier One and Tier Two. Must have successfully completed at least a 12 month work experience teaching in-vehicle modules one-ten.
Time Structure: This will be a 45-hour course, conducted in no less than 4 weeks.
The teacher candidate will: - Acquire risk-prevention driving habits
- Demonstrate space-management skills
- Demonstrate use and teaching ability of the Key Behavioral Patterns for the modules one through ten
Course Content and Key Behavioral Patterns: - The teacher candidate must demonstrate knowledge and successful in-vehicle performance as a driver and as a teacher for Modules One - Ten, and vehicle dynamics of car control during reduced traction situations.
- The teacher candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to design in-car route plans for effective design of in-car instruction for each of the ten modules.
- The teacher candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate and coach in-car instructors’ performance.
- The teacher candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with peers in an effective manner to maximize performance of in-car instructors.
